CIH-Certified Experts Protecting California Workers Through Science-Based Exposure Assessments
Industrial hygiene is the science of anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling workplace conditions that may cause workers' illness or injury.
Anticipation & Recognition — Identifying potential health hazards before they cause harm. We proactively assess your workplace to find chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic risks that could affect worker health.
Evaluation & Measurement — Quantifying workplace exposures through scientific sampling and analysis. Air monitoring, noise dosimetry, and other measurements determine if exposures exceed OSHA and Cal-OSHA limits.
Control & Prevention — Implementing effective controls to eliminate or reduce hazards. Engineering controls, administrative procedures, and personal protective equipment recommendations based on the hierarchy of controls.
Documentation & Compliance — Maintaining records to demonstrate regulatory compliance, support worker compensation claims, and document good-faith efforts to protect employee health.

Request a ConsultationThe Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential represents the highest professional standard in industrial hygiene
The CIH certification is administered by the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (formerly ABIH). It requires a combination of education, experience, and passing a rigorous examination covering all aspects of industrial hygiene practice.
CIHs have demonstrated expertise in toxicology, exposure assessment, engineering controls, epidemiology, and regulatory compliance. This knowledge ensures accurate hazard evaluation and effective recommendations.
CIHs are bound by a professional code of ethics requiring objectivity, integrity, and placing worker health above other interests. Your assessment will be scientifically sound and unbiased.
CIH opinions carry significant weight in regulatory proceedings, litigation, and expert testimony. Many Cal-OSHA programs specifically reference industrial hygienist involvement.
